Balikpapan, E Kalimantan (ANTARA News) - French investors are interested in the construction of the National Maritime Science and Technology Park in Indonesia, located in Penajam Paser Utara District, East Kalimantan Province.
"This construction should spur the local innovation products to bring positive impact to the improvement of the community`s welfare, especially in the Penajam Paser Utara," Head Administration of the district Yusran Aspar said here on Monday.
The Techno Park project will also be integrated with the Buluminung and Kariangau Industrial areas to encourage economy, materials, logistics, housing, transportation growths and others, he said.
"The administration strongly supports this project by providing land as the location of the Techno Park," Aspar said.
The administration of North Penajam Paser has prepared 100 hectares of land for the construction site of the research and development for maritime science and technology which located in Buluminung village, he said.
The Techno Park is a pilot project for the maritime development and research center.
The Maritime Techno Park was designed by the Assessment and Application of Technology Agency (BPPT) and will be funded by the government, he said.
"This research center will have 12 research vessels," Aspar added. (*)
