Samarinda, E Kalimantan (ANTARA News) - Six towers of base transceiver stations (BTS) would be operational in East Kalimantan frontier areas to facilitate wireless telecommunications.
The six units were built by the Mahakam Ulu district administration to be operational before Christmas or New Year, Abdullah Sani, head of the East Kalimantan regional Communications and Informatics Service, said here on Wednesday.
The towers built by the East Kalimantan provincial administrations have been in function since last year, Abdullah said.
He said he had met with the cellular phone operator PT Telkomsel to ensure that the six tower could be operational as scheduled. (*)
