Balikpapan, E Kalimantan, Nov 29 (Antara) - East Kalimantan Governor Awang Faroek Ishak will become one of the keynote speakers of the 21st session of the Conference of the Parties (COP21) held in Paris from November 30 to December 11.

Awang left for Paris on Sunday morning as part of the Indonesian delegation led by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to the COP21 also known as the Paris Climate Change Conference.

On December 3, Awang will become a keynote speaker of a panel discussion "Green Growth" at the Indonesian Pavilion.

He will again deliver his keynote address to a panel discussion "The Landscape Forum on December 6. However, he will be represented by executive chairman of the Climate Change Regional Board (DDPI) Daddy Ruchyat as he had to return home on December 6.

He enjoyed the international trust as a keynote speaker of the two panel discussions for his strong commitment to anticipate global warming and climate change through various regional policies.

"Thank God, I get this chance as I am considered to be one of governors in Indonesia who has strong commitment to anticipate global warming and climate change," he said in his press statement released on Sunday.(*)
