Samarinda, E Kalimantan (ANTARA News) - East Kalimantan recorded a 1.47 percent increase in exports to US$1.3 billion in July from US$1.29 billion in the previous month.

"In comparison with exports in July , 2016, the July`s exports shot up 21.97 percent," head of the East Kalimantan Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) Muhammad Habibullah said here on Tuesday.

The export value included US$290,000 in oil and gas, down 17.79 percent from the previous month, and US$1.02 billion in commodities other than oil and gas up 8.62 percent from the previous month.

The exports of US$1.31 billion in July 2017 included US$28.17 million in crude oil, US$9.62 million in oil products US$249.9 million in gas and US$98.61 in oil products , in industrial products and US$925 million in mining products.

The main countries of destination of exports included Japan to which exports were valued at US$95.99 million in July down from US$112.6 million in the previous month.

Exports to Taiwan were valued at US$53.4 million down 6.05 percent from US$56.83 million in June; exports to South Korea US$43.52 million down 39.06 percent from US$71.42 million in the previous month, exports to China were valued at US$37.5 million up from zero in the previous month , exports to Singapore were valued at US$19.62 million down 44.02 percent from US$35.05 million in June.

Exports of commodities other than oil and gas in July included to China valued at US$302.74 million or an increase of 45.97 percent from US$207.4 million in June, exports to India valued at US$174.32 million down 5.09 percent from the previous month of US$163.66 million.

"Other export destinations for commodities other than oil and gas included Japan to which exports were valued at US$134.86 million, up 58.21 percent from the previous month , to South Korea valued at 95.74 million , down 11.3 percent from US$107.94 million in June," Habibullah said. (*)
