Samarinda, E Kalimantan (ANTARA Kaltim) - East Kalimantan recorded a surplus of US$11.91 million (Rp148.87 trillion) in its international trade in 2015.

The province exported US$17.41 billion worth of goods as against imports of only US$5.5 billion in 2015, head of the provincial office of the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) M Habibullah said here on Wednesday.

Export commodities from East Kalimantan include oil and gas valued at US$6.39 billion, and other commodities including coal valued at US$11 billion.

Its imports were mainly capital goods and industrial basic materials, Habibullah said.

The exports of oil and gas in 2015 fell 36 percent from the year earlier. In 2014, exports of crude oil alone were valued at US$1.66 billion , oil products valued at US$1.28 billion and gas in the form of liquefied natural gas (LNG) valued at US$7.05 billion.

Exports of other commodities in 2015 including coal were valued at US$9.57 billion or down 20.97 percent from US$12.11 billion in 2014.

Exports of timber and timber products were valued at US$366 million , down 8.83 percent from US$402.12 million in 2014.

"Imports by East Kalimantan included crude oil valued at US$2.97 billion , oil products US$1.15 billion and other commodities US$1.36 billion," Habib said. (*)
